SBC + Wiring Harness + Mounts + Exhaust + Suspension + Suspension Mounts/Bushings + Windshield + Seats + Throttle linkage + Brakes + Brake system + brake linkage + driveshaft + differential + god knows what else

And that's just to get it driving, nothing like road legal. Turning this into a road legal car is a massive restoration project.

Looks like a guy trying to cover his tracks. Those sure look a lot like bullet holes in the fron windshield. I'd still have to go pick it up and file off the VIN and wipe off any fingerprints.. total CP.

I am not as big a fan of the SA22C/FB-3S RX7s as I am of the FC and FD, but I still like rotary cars.

I have had an idea rolling around in my head for a while, and I have yet to see it in actuality.

THIS IS THE PERFECT DONOR.

... to turn an early RX7 into an RX7 Grand Sport Roadster.

Think lower half early RX7 body with wide fender flares, and a unified fiberglass front clamshell.

And then this treatment of roof removal.

No glass... no problem, it would get removed anyway. Use the roof, or just raw sheet metal to fabricate a rear bodywork trunk lid, and smooth or replace the b-pillar hoop to be smooth and aerodynamic.

It would probably need under-body bracing... but what do you want to bet that a Power-Plant Frame and this brace could be fabricated to fit? (Flyin' Miata Underbody Brace, sides welded in, center section bolted to the sides.)

Re-build the car with race hardware, and a hot street/track built 13B or even a 20B 3-rotor.

I wonder how rust-free a San Diego area car would be...
